Ballet West Guild’s Arts Legend Awards were established through a grass-roots level desire to recognize individuals from our local Ballet and greater Utah Arts community who have played a particularly active, lengthy, and dedicated role as an artist, producer, administrator, patron or advocate for the Arts.

An “audience and community award” of sorts, the Guild’s Arts Legend Awards provide an opportunity to articulate and express a deep appreciation from our membership to the selected recipient for their life’s work.

The Guild’s Arts Legend Awards are presented annually to 2-3 individuals, thoughtfully nominated and selected by Ballet West Guild’s Leadership Council.

Ava is the youngest member of Ballet West Guild an

Ava is the youngest member of Ballet West Guild and often attends our “Guild Members Only” In-Studio Rehearsals. Today, she brought along her brother August and her father, Thomas Bath.

We all were privileged to see a rehearsal of “Within the Golden Hour,” a one-act contemporary Ballet choreographed by Christopher Wheeldon, with music composed by Ezio Bosso and featured music by Antonio Vivaldi. This work is part of the triple bill “Pictures at an Exhibition” which opens at Capitol Theatre on November 8th.

Ballet West’s 2024-25 Season will open with “Jekyll and Hyde” on October 25th.

Tonight, in our monthly BW Guild Meeting, we had a debrief of our 2024 Welcome Back Party for Dancers & Staff.

We always seem to remember back to that first year in 2017 when we held this event at the 5th Floor Lounge.

Who could forget that year when our always loyal member, Daniel Darger, brought the chickens.

That 2017 event night has become somewhat of an urban legend or shall we say, Guild Lore. There was Lucas Horns eating chicken all the way down the elevator. Julie Terry Shulimson serving chicken to folks passing on 2nd South.
