You’re Invited to Ballet West Guild Lunch with Bené Arnold

In conjunction with Ballet West on tour in St. George, Ballet West Guild is hosting a luncheon with Ballet West’s former Ballet Mistress, Bené Arnold, who now resides in St. George.

Bené Arnold is renowned in the Ballet world, having performed in Mr. C’s first production of The Nutcracker in San Francisco in 1949. She came to Salt Lake City and joined Utah Civic Ballet which later became Ballet West, serving as Mr. C’s Ballet Mistress from 1963. Bene also joined the University of Utah Department of Ballet faculty. In 1998, Bené was the first woman and the only faculty member of Fine Arts & Humanities to be named Distinguished Professor at the University of Utah. She now holds the honor of Distinguised Professor Emeritus. Over the years, Bené has received numerous awards including a Citation from the Utah State Senate, the Chamber of Commerce Award in the Arts, and the Governor’s Award in the Arts.
